From the Daily Show to New America

Last night on The Daily Show, Jon Stewart interviewed Michael Rejebian and Alan Huffman, the oppositional researchers who will divulge their dirt-digging secrets at this Friday’s negative advertising event at New America.

“You’re the guys who show up at a local courthouse…and say ‘we were wondering if you have any information on so and so.’ Do you tell them who you’re working for at that time or no?” Stewart asked the two men, authors of the recently released book “We’re With Nobody.”

“No, and that’s really why we call the book 'We’re With Nobody,'” Huffman explained. “When we go in there and we start asking questions, usually it’s about a politician they know of… They always say, ‘and who are you with?’ …We always say, ‘we’re with nobody.’ Or sometimes I’ll say, ‘I’m with him,’ [points to Rejebian], and that sort of throws them.”

“So it goes into Abbott and Costello territory pretty fast,” Stewart joked.

Later, he asked how oppositional research affects their souls, and what they would do if they unearthed a piece of dirt that would destroytheir candidate. Check out the full video below, and be sure to RSVP for this Friday’s event to hear more from the oppo men.
